Storm Safety

The most important aspect of storm chasing and photography is safety, both personal and public.

Knowing what to do in a weather-related emergency can safe lives! Every chance I get I try to inform others on the proper steps to take in different situations. Below are a few examples:

* Never seek shelter from a tornado under a bridge or overpass! FIND A DITCH OR LOW LYING AREA! Remember, flying debris is the primary threat in a tornado!

For those of you that have seen the video of people hiding under a bridge, they were lucky in more ways than one, mostly because that bridge had a small area they could crawl into. Also, the tornado didn't make a direct hit on the bridge, therefore they only had the winds from the outskirts.
